Mark joined Outback Ecology in 2011 with over 25 years of experience in Environmental Science in the Public and Private Sector. Mark is a specialist air quality and approvals scientist. Having completed numerous air quality monitoring and modelling studies in support of approvals in the United Kingdom, Mark gained broader approvals and management experience at Main Roads in Western Australia before working as an environmental consultant.  In this role he has authored or contributed to many formal and informal environmental approvals in mining, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors.  Mark has successfully managed approvals at all levels in Western Australia under both the Environmental Protection Act (1986) and the Western Australian Mining Act (1978).  He has also successfully negotiated a number of controlled actions to approval under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (1999).
